Kratochwil extends title advantage at Most

The Northern Talent Cup rolled into the Autodrom Most for our first visit to Czechia this season, with Fynn Kratochwil (MASS SPORTS Racing by JRP Motorsport) charging to Race 1 glory after a stunning ride from pole position. The #8 extended his championship lead, crossing the line ahead of title rival Thias Wenzel (Kiefer Racing), with the #17 missing out by 0.033s. Wenzel added a further 20 points to his title charge, finishing ahead of Motorace Academy Germany’s Robin Siegert on Saturday.

Kratochwil made a stunning start to Race 1, grabbing the lead on the all-important run to Turn 1. The #8 wasted no time putting down the hammer, with Wenzel pushing hard behind before launching his first attack on Lap 2. Wenzel briefly took the lead before Kratochwil responded, allowing Siegert and Tobias Kitzbichler (Racingteam Kitzbichler) to reel in the leaders. Behind, there was plenty of action as Roman Durdis (FS12 Racing Team) and Anina Urlass (Kiefer Racing) began their battle for the final spots inside the top five.

Domi Pekkanen (DPR Team) ended his hopes of a strong result on Saturday, crashing out on Lap 6 before Jaylen Korporaal (ADR Racing) suffered a DNF two laps later. At the front, Kratochwil and Wenzel continued to fight as Kitzbichler began to lose touch with the leaders, losing time in P4. The lead swapped hands multiple times, most notably as Kratochwil made a mistake at the start of Lap 7, handing Wenzel a brief advantage before slipstream proved to be crucial.

In the closing stages, Tom Rolin (Belgian Motorcycle Academy) went down at the start of Lap 9, dashing his hopes of a strong points haul. At the front, the battle boiled into a three-way fight for victory, with the #8 digging deep to claw back time following a costly mistake on Lap 10. It was a dramatic final lap, with Kratochwil beating Wenzel in a drag race to the line, forcing the #17 to settle for second, while Siegert followed behind, settling for third position.

Kratochwil added another win to his tally in 2025, beating Wenzel as Siegert took the final spot on the podium. Kitzbichler would cross the line over 10 seconds behind, holding off Lorenzo Pontillo (Belgian Motorcycle Academy), who took the final spot inside the top five. Durdis clinched sixth position, finishing in front of Swan Emprin (SWAN96#) in seventh and Urlass in eighth. Meanwhile, Tamas Lukacs (Team Lukas Pesek) and Nordgren Racing’s Valdemar Mellgren rounded out the top 10 as the NTC field went back to the drawing board to close in on the championship leader.

Kratochwil doubles up in Round 3

Fynn Kratochwil completed the perfect weekend in Czechia, storming to his second win of the weekend from the front row of the grid. It was another masterclass from the #8, who secured the maximum points and defeated Thias Wenzel, who finished 3.481s behind after another solid result for the German rider. Robin Siegert made it back-to-back podium finishes, finishing just 0.035s behind Wenzel after an unforgettable end to Race 2’s action.

Once the lights went out on Sunday, Wenzel nailed the perfect start from pole position, leading Kratochwil through the opening lap. However, the #8 wasted no time in striking back, launching a move to steal P1 in the opening stages. Kratochwil threw down an early gauntlet, stretching his lead to over one second, leaving Wenzel and Siegert to fight for the podium spots. Elsewhere, Jaylen Korporaal suffered his second DNF of the weekend, leaving Most empty-handed.

Outside of the podium fight, Lorenzo Pontillo had a hectic start to Race 2, briefly tagging onto the front group before the #23 was forced to serve a double Long Lap. Meanwhile, Roman Durdis was working hard as the #7 continued to fight for an important fourth-place finish in a multi-rider group. It was a hot pace throughout the 14-lap dash, with Anina Urlass’ charge coming to an abrupt end after a technical issue forced Urlass to retire.

In the closing stages, Kratochwil extended his lead to over three seconds, continuing to look unstoppable. Wenzel held firm in second, with Siegert continuing to pile on the pressure, looking to force the #17 into a mistake. Behind, there was a further incident as Valdemar Mellgren crashed out on Lap 9, ending hopes of a strong finish, while Tom Rolin was later forced to retire. It was an intense finale, with Kratochwil sprinting to victory as Wenzel and Siegert’s battle went to the line.

At the chequered flag, it was Kratochwil who stormed to win, with Wenzel defeating Siegert in a drag race to the line by 0.035s. Pontillo recovered to fourth position, beating Durdis, who rounded out the top five positions on Sunday afternoon. Tamas Lukacs took sixth, finishing ahead of Swan Emprin and Tobias Kitzbichler. Meanwhile, Ruben Nijland (NijlandRacing88) claimed ninth as Giulio Di Napoli (RC113 Reparto Corse) rounded out the top 10. Further back, Alessandro Binder (ASR Binder Racing) had a disappointing end to Round 3, suffering a highside on the penultimate lap.

Kratochwil now holds a commanding 43-point advantage in the championship standings as the Northern Talent Cup field prepares for their next stop on the calendar at the Sachsenring for Round 4 of the season.
