The rain intensified as the laps continued to tick by, with an intense lead battle beginning to form. Kitzbichler’s move arrived on Lap 6, hitting the front for the first time of asking at Turn 4. It was a new challenge for Kratochwil, whose main aim was to extend his title lead. There was drama for Kitzbichler on Lap 9, with the #38 crashing out of the lead – extinguishing Race 1 hopes.

Siegert steals the spotlight as Kitzbichler fights back in Race 2

Robin Siegert was victorious on Sunday morning, grabbing Race 2 honours by just 0.108s after an incredible ride. It was NTC at its best, with Tobias Kitzbichler creating headlines after an incredible save on the opening lap dropped the #38 outside the top 20. Kitzbichler battled back to second at the flag, defeating championship leader Fynn Kratochwil, who continues his incredible run of form in third position.

Conditions remained tricky for Race 2, with early drama for Ruben Nijland (NijlandRacing88), who suffered a crash on the sighting lap – ending his weekend. Once the action got underway, it was all action from Robin Siegert, who charged into the lead on the opening lap of Sunday’s action. All eyes were soon on Tobias Kitzbichler, who made a jaw-dropping save, dropping outside of the points in the process. Tom Rolin would hit the front, launching his move on the entry to Turn 1.

Lorenzo Pontillo quickly attacked his teammate on Lap 5, leading to an all-out duel between the Belgian Motorcycle Academy riders. Further back, fastest laps were being racked up by Kitzbichler, who quickly entered the top eight before entering the podium fight on Lap 8. Kitzbichler was not the only rider completing a comeback, with Anina Urlass (Kiefer Racing) charging towards the top 10 following a pitlane start. The #21 was beginning to catch Swan Emprin as championship leader Kratochwil entered P3.

In the closing laps, Robin Siegert stole the spotlight with a sensational move at Turn 1, storming from P4 to P1 on the penultimate lap. The #11 put the hammer down, with Tom Rolin and Kratochwil left fighting for the final rostrum position. It all went down to the final sector, with Siegert losing the rear at the penultimate corner, leaving Kitzbichler with an opportunity.

On the run to the line, Siegert held onto victory, holding off Kitzbichler by a mere 0.108s after 16 laps of drama.
