Lenoxx Phommara leads the way as Oschersleben welcomes Round 3

30 May 2023

Following a magnificent comeback win at the Sachsenring, the Swiss rider leads Sessler by four points

Only four races into the season and we’ve already enjoyed some truly spectacular racing in the 2023 Northern Talent Cup: a thrilling wet-weather win, two maiden victories, a stunning comeback, and plenty of on-track drama. What more could we possibly hope for? How about more wet weather antics from the Phommara brothers, a Martin Vincze (VM Racing Team) breakout performance, a rookie on the podium or another maiden victory? Time will tell!

After claiming two race wins and a podium in the opening four races, Lenoxx Phommara (Team Phommara) leads the standings by just four points, ahead of the determined and industrious Rocco Sessler (MCA Racing) in second, who claimed his first victory in the category at Round 2. Behind the lead pair, it’s a further 22 points down to Martin Vincze (VM Racing Team) who sits just two points ahead of the fast-improving Julius Frellsen (MCA Racing).  Eight points down and fifth in the standings, it’s French rookie Antoine Nativi (CTM 83 Junior Team).

As track action gets underway at the weekend, all eyes will be upon the elder Phommara. He’s the in-form rider with a good track record at Oschersleben, claiming his first victory in the category at the German circuit in the wet in 2022. The likes of Sessler, Frellsen and Vincze are unlikely to care much about that though as they head into the weekend determined to grab the lion’s share of the points at the expense of their rivals.

French rookie Nativi continues to impress, but it was Kyano Schoo (KS-Racing) who raised a few eyebrows with an impressive performance in Race 2 at the Sachsenring, that hinted of better things to come. Worth keeping an eye out for both rookies!

So, who will it be? What incredible story will unfold before our eyes? And which bright young talent will take his first important steps on the glorious road to MotoGP™!?

Two more races await the NTC teams and riders this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Tune into Race 1 at 16:00 (GMT +2) and Race 2 at 14:05 to see who will emerge triumphant in Oschersleben!
